Job summary

Southland Industries seeks an experienced design engineering leader to guide project teams and ensure adherence to engineering standards. You will provide design expertise, develop complex layouts for estimations, and perform critical site inspections.

The role requires a PE license, a bachelor's in engineering, and a minimum of 12 years' experience including leadership of engineers. Strong communication, public speaking, and CAD skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• PE license is required.
• Minimum 12 years of relevant experience, including 5+ years in people management.

Responsibilities

• Provide design and engineering guidance on projects and ensure standards are followed.
• Lead conceptual design and prepare complex preliminary layouts for estimating.
• Perform site inspections and resolve design issues during construction.
• Attend project meetings as design expert and ensure successful project goals.
• Manage a smaller group of engineers, including staffing, training, coaching and performance management.
