Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Sr Principal Embedded & Real Time Software Engineer in California (San Diego or Palmdale) to design, develop, integrate, and test embedded and real-time software for flight and mission critical systems.

You will work in an Agile SW environment with cross-disciplinary teams, focusing on architecture, development, and debugging of software running on RTOS such as VxWorks or RT Embedded Linux.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years related engineering exp, or Master’s with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
• Experience with full SDLC and embedded RTOS development for flight or mission critical systems.
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python; multi-threaded real-time software experience.
• Experience with two or more CI/CD tools and configuration management systems.
• Familiarity with data interfaces such as CAN, Ethernet/IP, 1553, or similar.

• Design, develop, integrate and test embedded and real-time software.
• Work with cross-disciplinary teams in an Agile SW development environment.
• Contribute to software architecture, design, implementation, and debugging.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, hardware, and test engineers to maintain complex SW systems.
