Job summary
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Senior Principal Electrical Engineer for the AVE Integration and Test Lab in Roy, UT, supporting the Sentinel program. You will own cable/harness design from concept to delivery, acting as SME for harnessing and instrumentation while partnering with Manufacturing, Procurement and Lab teams.
The role requires a STEM degree with significant experience, DoD Secret clearance, and leadership in cable/harness engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM with 8+ years experience; or Master’s with 6 years; or PhD with 4 years.
- US citizen with active DoD Secret clearance at time of application and able to obtain SAP approval.
- 3+ years using CAD design tools (NX, CATIA, Capital, etc.).
- 3+ years of cable/harness design experience, preferably to military/aviation standards.
- At least 1 year of experience with MIL-STD data signals (MIL-STD-1553, RS-422, CAN).
Responsibilities
- Develop cable/harness design solutions for lab testing and SME guidance.
- Define electrical drawing tree and interconnect diagrams for test lines.
- Translate system requirements into harness/cable requirements and routing.
- Mentor engineers in harness design and interconnect practices.
- Lead technical reviews and sign-off electrical diagrams.
