Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Sr. Principal Cyber Systems Engineer to join the Rancho Bernardo, CA team. The role involves leading cybersecurity execution, implementing RMF/JSIG controls, and delivering system security solutions for DoD programs.

This onsite position requires an active TS clearance, strong collaboration across engineering, cybersecurity, and program stakeholders, and a track record of risk-based security planning. Travel up to 25% may be needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 8+ years of related engineering experience, or Master’s with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years.
• Active DoD 8140/Cyber Workforce qualification or DoD 8570 IAM II, CISSP, or CSSLP preferred.
• Experience defending accreditation packages as ISSE/ISSM and RMF/JSIG for SAP/SCI systems.
• Experience with RMF, JSIG, vulnerability management, and security control assessments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead cybersecurity execution across engineering, cybersecurity, program, and customer stakeholders.
• Design, develop, integrate, test, verify, and validate system security solutions.
• Prepare and defend accreditation packages as ISSE/ISSM.
• Apply RMF and JSIG requirements for SAP/SCI systems.
• Validate security posture, report findings, and support risk-acceptance recommendations.
• Coordinate across multiple teams to support cybersecurity across the lifecycle.
