Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Melbourne, FL, is seeking a Cyber Systems Engineer (Senior Principal) to lead secure cloud infrastructure operations and advance RMF compliance for cloud-based systems.

You will deploy and configure Linux and Windows per STIG requirements, manage SIEM/IDS/IPS tooling (ACAS, HBSS, Splunk), and collaborate on system deployments with cross‑functional teams to strengthen overall security posture.

Qualifications

• Required STEM degree with relevant experience (see alternatives).
• Security certification: CAP/CGRC, CASP/SecurityX, CISM, or CISSP (or Associate).
• Experience deploying and configuring Linux/Windows per DoD STIGs.
• Experience with SIEM/IDS/IPS tooling (ACAS/HBSS/Splunk).
• Active US government Secret clearance or higher (or eligibility).
• Ability to obtain SAP clearance in a reasonable time.

Responsibilities

• Inform cyber engineering practices and ensure adherence to cybersecurity disciplines (COMSEC/COMPUSEC/EMSEC/OPSEC).
• Deploy and maintain security tooling configurations to meet RMF guidance (NIST SP 800-53, CNSSI 1253).
• Assess security controls, identify vulnerabilities, and propose mitigations.
• Document A&A results, maintain SSPs and POA&Ms.
• Manage security tools and centralized authentication solutions.
• Provide expert analysis for cybersecurity infrastructure challenges.
