Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior software program manager in New York to drive avionics software for next-generation platforms. You will lead planning, coordination, and technical direction of software deliverables across cross-functional teams.

You will ensure alignment of software with hardware and integration artifacts, manage risks, and communicate status to leadership and customers. DO-178C/DO-297 exposure is a plus; embedded RTOS experience is valued.

Qualifications

• University degree or higher required.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Experience leading large software or multi-discipline engineering teams with complex interdependencies.
• Experience with software development, integration, verification, or systems-level coordination of software deliverables.
• Experience managing technical software projects, including schedule execution, risk management, issue resolution, and customer interaction.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, coordination, and technical direction of software deliverables for next-generation commercial avionics platforms.
• Lead daily software engineering execution across planning, development, integration, verification, and sustainment.
• Ensure consistency across software requirements, interfaces, ICDs, configuration baselines, and engineering artifacts.
• Coordinate software integration events, lab activities, and test plans aligned with verification, validation, and certification workflows.
• Guide resolution of software defects, integration issues, and technical blockers.
• Represent software engineering status, challenges, and milestones to program leadership and customers.
