RTX’s Collins Aerospace division in Cedar Rapids seeks a design-focused engineer to design, develop, and test avionics sensor simulations. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to debug lab issues and ensure timely delivery within the CSE program.

The position involves interacting with management and customers, supporting budget/schedule data, and contributing to the avionics simulation platform, with occasional travel (5-10%).

Qualifications

• Typically requires STEM degree and at least 10 years of relevant experience, or 7 years with an advanced degree.
• Experience with C/C++ programming languages and Python scripting.
• Experience with Agile Development Framework (Scrum, Sprints, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and test avionics sensor simulations for Collins Avionics products.
• Aid debugging to determine root cause and propose solutions to issues.
• Interact with teammates, management, and customers.
• Support Program Leads with budget and schedule data for CSE work.
• Collaborate with engineers to shape the avionics simulation platform.
• Travel 5-10% as needed.
