Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a RTX company, is seeking a Principal Software Quality Assurance Engineer to ensure design quality meets plans and regulatory requirements. You will audit avionics development, review artifacts, and lead the resolution of findings across project teams in a hybrid Cedar Rapids, IA environment.

The role requires DO-178B/C, DO-330, DO-331, and AS9100D experience, with 8+ years in avionics software quality.

Qualifications

Requires university degree and significant experience in avionics design & development
Experience applying DO-178B/C, DO-330, DO-331 and AS9100D to projects
Experience with software planning, development, and verification processes

Responsibilities

Audit avionics development programs for compliance with engineering plans, standards and requirements
Conduct SOI audits from planning through certification
Review requirements, software, test cases and other SOI artifacts for alignment with plans
Document, track and manage audit findings and drive resolution with leadership
Ensure engineering teams follow defined plans and processes throughout product development lifecycle
Tailor quality management activities to fit program needs and standards
Collaborate to identify non-conformances and process deviations
Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance quality and program execution
Present quality reviews and findings to customers and regulators
