Job summary

Johnson & Johnson, Wilson, NC, is seeking a Sr. Principal Process Engineer – Packaging to own end-to-end packaging equipment processes for large-molecule biotherapeutics.

You will lead design, qualification, and startup activities, partnering with cross-functional teams to drive compliant and efficient manufacturing workflows. The role demands adept leadership of multi-disciplinary teams, strong regulatory knowledge, and a track record in capital project execution within aseptic packaging

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required (Mechanical preferred).
• 10+ years packaging equipment process engineering in a biotherapeutic/synthetic environment.
• Experience leading packaging equipment processes across the full product lifecycle.
• Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with multi-functional teams and remote collaborators.
• Strong knowledge of cGMPs, serialization and aggregation for packaging of biotherapeutics.
• Experience with vendor assessments and project development/execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead packaging specifications and drawings for large-molecule operations.
• Provide process system ownership for packaging equipment used in manufacturing.
• Assess vendors and influence bid documents for projects.
• Lead design and development of packaging equipment for biotherapeutic products.
• Serve as Packaging Equipment SME for large-molecule projects with external partners.
• Lead FAT, SAT, commissioning and C&Q activities.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Facilities, MSAT, Quality, Procurement, E&PS and EHS.
• Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and company policies.
