Job summary

JPMorganChase is seeking a Senior Principal Architect to own target architectures for cross‑portfolio data platforms and drive modernization while ensuring governance and security across regions.

You will lead architecture governance, mentor architects, and interact with senior leaders to align technology investments with firm strategy. A strong AI/Generative AI focus and enterprise‑scale data patterns are required.

Qualifications

• Able to lead architecture for large‑scale, mission‑critical data platforms in regulated environments.
• Deep expertise in data patterns: data mesh, lakehouse, domain‑driven design, event‑driven and streaming architectures.
• Proven track record in portfolio‑scale architecture governance and ARB participation.
• Strong knowledge of AWS and cloud‑native platforms, containers, CI/CD, IaC, observability.
• Experience with real‑time and batch processing tools and associated governance patterns.
• Hands‑on data governance covering metadata, lineage, quality, retention and localization controls.
• Experience shaping AI and Generative AI strategy, including LLM integration and MLOps.
• Demonstrated ability to approve safe AI adoption across architecture workflows with governance.
• Ability to present complex topics to C‑suite and drive alignment across teams.

Responsibilities

• Owns and maintains target architectures for data platforms supporting Finance and Risk.
• Leads architecture governance across the tower with principles, guardrails and reviews.
• Drives modernization roadmap balancing debt, resilience, scalability, cost and time‑to‑market.
• Chairs Architecture Review Boards and represents the tower in firmwide forums.
• Interfaces with senior leaders and business stakeholders to influence technology investments.
• Provides coaching to domain architects and engineering leads on complex designs.
• Ensures compliance with data governance and resiliency standards across regions.
• Establishes AI‑enabled engineering patterns with traceability and security controls.
• Mentors a high‑performing architecture practice and fosters craftsmanship community.
• Translates complex issues for leadership to enable informed decisions on target state architecture.
