Grey Matters Defense Solutions, LLC in Boulder, CO seeks a Principal/Senior Principal Algorithms Software Engineer to design, develop, test, document, and optimize complex mathematical algorithms for missile tracking and data analysis in a fast-paced DoD/IC environment.

You’ll implement prototypes in Modern C++ and Python, collaborate across disciplines, and support state estimation, tracking, and data analysis with a Secret clearance; travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in STEM with 5+ years related experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with 1 year.
• Sr. Principal: 8+ years with Bachelor, or 6+ years with Master, or 4+ years with PhD.
• 1+ year of software development experience with Python and/or C++.
• Linux experience and basic utilities like grep, awk, cat head.
• Experience with data analysis, state estimation, and algorithm design.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.
• Active in-scope U.S. Government Secret clearance to start; ability to obtain TS/SCI.

Responsibilities

• Apply mathematics to data analysis and algorithm development for missile tracking.
• Develop and analyze tracking and state estimation algorithms.
• Prototype using modern C++ and Python.
• Document software and debug algorithms.
• Collaborate across disciplines and communicate with engineers.
