Job summary

Grey Matters Defense Solutions is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Algorithms Software Engineer in Boulder, CO to design, develop, test, and document advanced software and mathematical algorithms for DoD/IC applications.

You will work in a fast-paced research environment, collaborating with analysts, data scientists, and engineers to ensure mission-relevant outcomes and reusable software solutions. A STEM degree with extensive experience, Python/C++, and Linux proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM required with 5+ years of related experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with 1+ year.
• Minimum 1 year of software development experience with Python and/or C++.
• Linux experience and working knowledge of common utilities (grep, awk, cat, head).
• Experience with data analysis and state estimation; algorithm design is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Breadth and depth in applying mathematics to data analysis and algorithm development for missile tracking applications.
• Development and performance analysis of tracking and state estimation algorithms.
• Tool and prototype development using Modern C++ and Python.
• Algorithm defect tracking and resolution; technical documentation as required.
