Job summary

Grey Matters Defense Solutions is seeking a Principal/Senior Principal Algorithms Software Engineer in Boulder, CO. You will design, develop, test, and document advanced mathematical algorithms for IC/DoD applications, working with C++ and Python in a fast-paced R&D environment.

You will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and analysts, bridging theory and practical implementation while traveling up to 10%. A Secret clearance is required to start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5+ years of related experience, or Master’s with 3+ years, or PhD with 1 year.
• 1+ year of software development with Python and/or C++.
• Linux experience and utilities such as grep, awk, cat, head.
• Experience designing and implementing state estimation algorithms.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% and hold a current in-scope Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Apply mathematics to data analysis and algorithm development for missile tracking.
• Develop and analyze tracking and state estimation algorithms.
• Prototype and tool development using Modern C++ and Python.
• Document and track algorithm defects and fixes.
• Collaborate across cross-disciplinary teams and communicate results clearly.
• Support mission-focused product deployment and user interaction.
