Job summary

Toast is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to lead architecture and technical strategy for AI agents in Toast's Fintech Team. You will help define patterns, guide product discussions with senior leadership, and drive the Team agent space from design to production.

You will mentor engineers, shape development practices, and evolve scalable systems that restaurants rely on to manage staff and labor optimization.

Qualifications

• Design and drive scalable, mission-critical distributed systems.
• Lead agent development and adoption of spec-driven development.
• Collaborate with product and engineering leadership to deliver Team agent products.
• Mentor technical leadership across Team and Fintech divisions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive an architectural vision to support agents and agent development.
• Participate in FinTech product strategy discussions as a technical voice.
• Partner with leadership to deliver Team agent products from design to production.
• Mentor and develop senior technical leadership across Toast.
• Advance agent patterns and ecosystem across Toast use cases.
