Job summary

Toast seeks a visionary leader to helm Developer & Agent Experience, shaping an AI-native engineering OS. You will build scalable AI-driven development systems, govern model usage and costs, and drive standardized workflows across Product, Engineering and Design.

You’ll guide a new, focused organization in platform engineering, orchestration, and DevEx integration, collaborating with senior leaders to enable end-to-end AI-enabled delivery in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Deep technical proficiency in applied AI and agentic architectures.

Responsibilities

• Define and deliver core AI-native platform enabling development and agent orchestration.
• Architect workflows from PRDs to code, tests, and deployment with AI embedded.
• Redesign inner- and outer-loop DevEx to reduce PR and review friction.
• Establish standardized workflows, tooling defaults, playbooks, and training across R&D.
• Own dashboards and model-cost optimization, governance, and cost reporting.
• Build and lead an AI platform engineering organization.
• Own human-facing DevEx, Developer Portal, service metadata, and platform contracts with Release Engineering.
• Ensure model-agnostic, portable marketplace skills and plugins.
