Job summary

McKinstry in Chicago, IL is hiring a Senior Project Engineer- Prime MEP to lead delivery of complex projects. You will manage fiscal outcomes, ensure technical quality, and coordinate stakeholders from initiation through closeout.

The role requires 2+ years in a Project Engineer capacity, knowledge of construction management and financial acumen, and a PE/LEED designation is a plus. McKinstry offers strong benefits and a path for growth.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Construction Management, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management, or comparable degree.
• 2 years of Project Engineer role equivalent required.
• Knowledge of construction management, commercial building process, and financial acumen.
• Professional Engineer (PE) and LEED designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site point of contact for clients, subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel.
• Support RFP processes and coordinate with vendors.
• Coordinate equipment procurement with purchasing and outside vendors.
• Assist in the development of scope of work for subcontractors.
• Oversee the scheduling and coordination of trades.
• Assist with project controls, including subcontractor billings and client billings.
• Assist with monthly project accounting review.
• Manage and ensure accuracy of cost issue logs.
