Job summary

Hiscox USA is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst to support pricing processes, tools, and strategies across professional liability, general liability, and other specialty lines. You will develop rate strategies, prepare filings, and collaborate with Product, Underwriting, and Distribution to optimize profitability.

The role reports to a Pricing Manager and involves building pricing dashboards, using GLMs, and coordinating cross-team initiatives to drive sustainable growth for Hiscox USA.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of P&C actuarial pricing experience in small business commercial/personal lines.
• 5+ CAS exams; pursuing ACAS/FCAS; degree in actuarial/science/statistics/economics or related.
• Hands-on experience preparing/managing rate filings and DOI objections.
• SQL proficiency; working knowledge of Python, R, or VBA.
• Project management experience; strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Rating plan design: Develop pricing frameworks for new products with appropriate rating variables and tiers.
• Launch filings & monitoring: Prepare state filings, memoranda, exhibits; track performance and adjust as needed.
• Rate review & filings: Create/maintain rate change process; evaluate competitor data and prepare filings.
• Implementation & monitoring: Work with IT to update raters, QA/UAT, analyze post-change impacts.
• Profitability reviews: Conduct product/class/segment profitability reviews and provide pricing recommendations.
• Strategy & planning: Collaborate on segment-level pricing strategy and annual planning.
• Market monitoring: Track competitor activity and regulatory developments; assess impact.
• Data & tools: Build SQL queries, validation routines, dashboards for pricing insights.
• Actuarial methods & governance: Apply GLMs and multivariate methods; contribute to documentation.
• Communication: Present findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
