Job summary

Hiscox USA is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst to support actuarial pricing across Professional Liability, General Liability, BOP, Management Liability, Cyber and other specialty lines. You will develop rate strategies through independent analysis and collaborate with pricing analysts, product, underwriting and distribution.

This hybrid role reports to a Pricing Manager and focuses on building scalable pricing frameworks, preparing filings, managing rate changes, and delivering actionable

Qualifications

• 3+ years of P&C actuarial pricing experience, preferably in small business commercial and/or personal lines.
• 5+ CAS exams passed, with clear intent to pursue ACAS/FCAS; bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent experience).
• Hands-on experience preparing and managing rate filings and handling DOI objections.
• SQL proficiency required; working knowledge of at least one of Python, R, or VBA.
• Project management and workstream ownership across multi-team initiatives; strong written and verbal communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design rating plan frameworks for new products and pricing variables.
• Prepare state filings, actuarial memoranda, and supporting exhibits for product approvals.
• Maintain rate change process, rate indications, and filings with DOIs; analyze impact.
• Collaborate with IT to update raters and policy systems; perform QA/UAT and monitor metrics.
• Conduct profitability reviews at product, class, segment, and portfolio levels; provide pricing recommendations.
• Partner with Product, Underwriting, and Distribution on segment-level pricing strategy and mix management.
• Monitor market indicators, competitor activity, and regulatory developments affecting pricing.
• Build SQL queries, validation routines, dashboards, and pricing insights tools.
• Apply GLMs and multivariate pricing methods; contribute to model documentation.
