Job summary

HF Sinclair is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to conduct engineering assignments for the Engineering Department, leading and mentoring less experienced staff. The role focuses on pressure-retaining equipment design, inspection, and repair within a refinery setting.

Responsibilities include reviewing design requirements, performing stress analyses, overseeing vessel alterations, and ensuring compliance with ASME, NBIC, API 510, and PEI standards. Travel up to 5% may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in mechanical engineering related to refinery pressure-containing equipment design, inspection and repair.

Responsibilities

• Review design requirements and specifications for vessel & piping repairs per codes and standards.
• Calculate renewal thicknesses for equipment/components as needed.
• Evaluate remaining life and assist as requested.
• Review and approve temporary repairs per ASME PCC-2 and other standards.
• Oversee pressure vessel re-rates per applicable codes and jurisdiction.
• Ensure NBIC/API 510/PEI standards compliance for vessel alterations.
