Job summary

HF Sinclair Corporation in Anacortes, WA is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to lead projects involving pressure-containing equipment in refinery operations. You will review design requirements, perform critical calculations, and ensure compliance with ASME, NBIC and API standards.

Qualifications

• A minimum of five years of progressive work experience in mechanical engineering related to refinery pressure-containing equipment design, inspection and repair.
• Experience with ASME, NBIC, API 510 and fitness-for-service standards is preferred.
• Strong communication and ability to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Review design requirements and specifications for vessel and piping repairs per applicable codes and standards.
• Perform calculations to renew thicknesses and verify compliance where Code papers are missing.
• Lead technical reviews for safety, design, operability and turnarounds.
• Provide engineering support to turnaround planning and post-turnaround startup.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and coordinate with project teams.
