Job summary

Sundt is seeking a Preconstruction Project Manager to lead estimating teams and manage risk during the preconstruction phase on large transportation bids. You will coordinate with contracts, legal, taxes, and other support groups to ensure accurate, timely estimates.

Requirements include a 4-year engineering degree, 10+ years in estimating, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Primavera P6. The role targets complex projects over $50M with a collaborative, safety‑driven culture.

Qualifications

• Four-year engineering degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
• Ten or more years of experience in an estimating role.
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite programs and industry estimating software.

Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of preconstruction services for projects, providing input, coordination, and problem solving value at all stages of design development.
• Lead and coordinate estimating activities and personnel to prepare accurate, timely estimates for large transportation bids.
• Provide input on contract risk, cost exposure, and risk mitigation measures.
• Organize estimating team to review plans and specifications and execute overall bid strategy.
• Review the work of the estimating team for compliance with plans, specs, and jobsite conditions.
• Collaborate with contracts, legal, taxes, insurance, HR and other support groups.
