Job summary

Barry-Wehmiller is seeking a Preconstruction Manager to lead cost control, scheduling, and procurement for industrial and commercial projects. You will develop master estimates, vendor lists, bid documents, and project schedules in collaboration with senior leadership.

You will also oversee on-site construction management, design-build/EPC planning, and ensure quality control while maintaining master data and schedules. OSHA 30 certification is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field and 10 years of relevant experience.
• At least ten years' experience in cost and project schedule development and management of industrial construction projects.
• At least five years' on-site construction management experience in industrial/commercial sectors; design-build/EPC project planning and delivery experience.
• Proficiency with software such as Procore, Primavera, MS Project, WinEST, Timberline, AutoCAD, and/or Revit.
• Position requires OSHA 30-hour Construction certification.

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction: develop and maintain master project estimates and costs; maintain vendor/subcontractor lists; develop bid documents and scopes; develop project schedule templates.
• Planning and Scheduling: develop initial estimates and schedules in consultation with leadership; create preliminary project schedule.
• Procurement: participate in bid lists and subcontractor scopes; review contract documents and procurement recommendations.
• Project Management: update estimates with 30/60/90% drawings; coordinate critical dates; oversee procurement activities; conduct post-project reviews.
• Quality Control: monitor QC program activities; compare actual vs budgeted costs and durations.
• Managerial: conduct annual performance evaluations; report workload and department accomplishments; update operations manual.
