Job summary

Aspen Group is seeking a Senior Preconstruction Manager to lead pre-construction activities across diverse projects. The role manages client relationships, budgeting, bidding, and design reviews to align design with financial goals and contract terms.

The position can be remote within the United States, with travel of ~25-40% and preference for proximity to major airports on the Eastern half of the country.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• 6-10 years of experience in commercial, industrial, religious and/or K-12 estimating and pre-construction management.
• Advanced knowledge of blueprint reading, contract terms, and specialized software (Excel, Bluebeam, ProCore, ProEst, Destini).
• Exceptional leadership, communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution abilities.

Responsibilities

• Client Leadership: serve as the main client lead in the preconstruction phase.
• Cost Estimating & Budgeting: prepare conceptual estimates, detailed cost plans, and value engineering as designs evolve.
• Team Leadership: supervise and mentor estimators while coordinating workloads.
• Procurement & Bidding: manage the bid process, prequalify subcontractors, solicit pricing, and negotiate contracts.
• Design & Constructability Review: collaborate to identify design clashes and solve constructability issues.
• Operational Handoff: ensure smooth transition of budgets, scopes, and schedules to operations.
