Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Sr. Preconstruction Manager to lead and coordinate preconstruction activities for utility-scale wind, solar and storage projects, including engineering, permitting, interconnection, and scope development to ensure designs are de-risked and ready for construction.

You will manage engineering deliverables, oversee surveys, optimize site layout, and coordinate with legal, development, and external stakeholders to secure permits and agreements, driving on-time,

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or construction field required.
• 7+ years in Renewable Energy construction, engineering, and project management; PMP preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills to manage customer relationships and cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Teams.
• Leadership, communication, and ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong organization and multi-tasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead preconstruction readiness across engineering, permitting, procurement, and operations to ensure construction start without delays.
• Coordinate internal and third-party engineers to produce geotechnical, civil, HV, PV, and BESS designs.
• Oversee survey execution for design decisions and site data quality.
• Drive site layout optimization balancing constructability, permitting constraints, and cost.
• Develop civil permitting strategies and manage timelines to secure permits.
• Coordinate agreements on schedule with legal, engineering, and stakeholders.
• Align interconnection planning with engineering, transmission, and compliance teams.
• Incorporate O&M requirements into project scope and lifecycle planning.
• Assemble and validate scopes of work for bids and procurement.
• Lead LCOE analyses and cost-optimization reviews.
• De-risk projects prior to construction mobilization.
