Job summary

RWE Americas is seeking a Senior Manager, Utility Scale Development to initiate and deliver utility-scale solar, wind, and storage projects across the US and Canada. You will lead cross-functional teams through the full lifecycle from greenfielding to COD, including land control, permitting, interconnection, and financing.

You will drive strategic site selection, optimize CAPEX with internal and external partners, and mentor junior managers while aligning with North America strategy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business/economics, environmental science, or relevant field.
• 7+ years of work experience in renewable energy infrastructure, including wind/solar/storage in the US.
• Exceptional project management skills, leadership, and communication.
• Ability to travel up to 50% and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills and cross-functional collaboration ability.

Responsibilities

• Develop a portfolio of utility-scale solar, wind and storage projects from greenfield to construction.
• Serve as project lead, managing large cross-functional teams.
• Oversee full project lifecycle: land control, permitting, interconnection, engineering, tax equity, and power marketing.
• Lead cost estimating and EPC bidding to firm up CAPEX with Precon and Procurement.
• Drive engineering design optimization and support construction to COD.
• Mentor junior development managers and associates on project leadership.
• Assess financial attractiveness and optimize project locations with commercial teams.
• Lead due diligence for acquisitions with M&A support and present to leadership.
• Prepare management presentations and drive internal approvals.
