Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced estimator to lead the design-phase cost estimates for commercial and industrial projects. You will read drawings, geo-tech reports, and specs to develop accurate unit prices and GMP budgets.

You will coordinate with subcontractors, prepare RFQs/RFPs, build project databases, and create schedules in P6 while maintaining vendor relationships to meet hard deadlines on bids from 10M to 80M.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years estimating and PreCon experience.
• Experience with hard bid municipal commercial projects.
• Ability to read construction terminology.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and lead the estimating group on design-phase cost estimates.
• Read drawings, geo-tech reports and specifications.
• Identify utility conflicts and bypass areas.
• Perform quantity take-off of pipe, appurtenances, concrete and sitework.
• Formulate unit prices as needed.
• Solicit subcontractor/supplier participation via phone or email.
• Write RFIs to engineers.
• Develop project RFQ/RFPs and budgets (GMP).
• Create construction schedule for estimates in P6.
