Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation is seeking an estimator to lead the design-phase cost estimating, read and interpret drawings and geo-tech reports, and identify utility conflicts for bid packages. The role emphasizes precise quantity take-offs, unit price formulation, and RFQ/RFP development.

The candidate will work on developing and maintaining vendor/subcontractor relationships and creating schedules for estimates in P6, contributing to pre and post construction reviews.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand construction terminology.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and MC2 knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and lead estimating group on design phase cost estimates.
• Read drawings, geo-tech reports and specifications.
• Identify utility conflicts and bypass areas.
• Perform quantity take-off of pipe & appurtenances/concrete/sitework with quantity counts and linear measurements.
• Formulate a unit price as needed.
• Write RFIs to Engineers.
• Proficient in scope analysis and estimating deficiencies.
• Develop project RFQ and RFPs.
• Establish project database for proposals.
• Create construction schedules for estimates in P6.
• Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key vendors and subcontractors.
• Participate in pre and post construction review.
