Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation seeks an experienced estimator to lead the design-phase cost estimating efforts. You will read drawings, assess utility conflicts, and prepare quantity takeoffs for pipes, concrete, and sitework, while coordinating with subs to sharpen bids.

You will develop RFIs, RFQs/RFPs, and establish project budgets for GMP, creating schedules in P6 and maintaining vendor relationships for 10–80M projects.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of estimating and PreCon experience.
• Experience with hard bid municipal commercial projects is preferred.
• Ability to read construction drawings, geotech reports, and specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating group during design phase cost estimates.
• Read drawings, geo-tech reports and specifications accurately.
• Identify utility conflicts and bypass areas.
• Takeoffs for pipe, appurtenances, concrete and sitework, with quantity counts.
• Formulate unit prices as needed for estimates.
• Solicit subcontractor/supplier participation via phone or email.
• Prepare RFIs to engineers and support project team.
• Conduct scope analysis and identify potential deficiencies.
• Develop project RFQ and RFP documentation.
• Establish project database for proposals and track budgets (GMP).
• Create construction schedules in Primavera P6.
• Coordinate and establish project budget and deadlines for bids.
• Support multiple projects from 10M to 80M with hard deadlines.
