Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation in Charlotte, NC is seeking an experienced Estimator to lead the design-phase cost estimates, read drawings and reports, identify utility conflicts, and develop unit prices. You will perform quantity take-offs for pipes, concrete, and sitework, and coordinate with vendors to keep bids competitive.

The role requires developing RFQs/RFPs, building project budgets (GMP), and creating schedules in P6.

Qualifications

• Experience with hard bid municipal commercial projects.
• Ability to understand construction terminology and read drawings.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Estimating and leading the estimating group on design phase cost estimates.
• Read drawings, geo-tech reports and specifications; identify utility conflicts.
• Perform quantity take-offs of Pipe & Appurtenances/Concrete/Sitework with counts and measurements.
• Formulate unit prices as needed; solicit subcontractor/supplier participation by phone or email.
• Write RFIs to engineers; develop project RFQ and RFP; establish project budgets (GMP).
• Create construction schedules in P6 and manage project databases for proposals.
• Develop long-term relationships with key vendors/subcontractors; participate in pre/post construction reviews.
• Coordinate and manage projects ranging from 10M to 80M with hard deadlines.
