Job summary

Scott Humphrey Corporation seeks a Senior Estimator to join its DFW team, pricing complex commercial construction projects and leading preconstruction efforts. The role emphasizes MOB, medical, office, and light industrial work with a strong focus on budgeting, bid packages, and value engineering.

You will collaborate with architects, owners, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to develop accurate estimates, manage multiple bids, and support project handoff to operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience at senior level.
• Experience on MOB, healthcare, office, K-12, data centers, or light industrial projects.
• Ability to develop accurate estimates and manage multiple bids.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimating and preconstruction from conceptual budgeting through final bid and turnover.
• Prepare detailed estimates, quantity takeoffs, bid packages, and scope reviews for commercial projects.
• Analyze plans and contract documents to identify scope gaps and cost risks.
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor bids to develop competitive estimates.
• Develop detailed conceptual and hard-bid estimates including labor, materials, and contingencies.
• Collaborate with architects, owners, subcontractors, and internal teams throughout preconstruction.
• Support value engineering and scope development to align budgets with owner expectations.
• Present estimates, budgets, and VE recommendations to leadership and clients.
• Maintain subcontractor and vendor relationships and understand local market pricing.
• Assist with project handoff to operations to ensure clear communication of scope and budget.
• Track market conditions, material pricing, labor availability, and subcontractor capacity.
