Job summary

Scott Humphrey is seeking an experienced Estimator/Preconstruction professional in North Carolina to lead design-phase cost estimates and coordinate with design teams. The role requires reading drawings, reports, and specs, identifying conflicts, performing quantity take-offs, and developing unit prices.

Projects range 10M–80M with tight deadlines. The ideal candidate has 5–10 years of estimating/PreCon experience, municipal hard bid exposure, strong terminology knowledge, and proficient MS

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of estimating and PreCon experience.
• Experience with hard bid municipal commercial projects.
• Ability to understand construction terminology.
• Driver's license and ability to commute to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Estimate and lead the estimating group on design phase cost estimates.
• Read drawings, geo-tech reports and specifications.
• Identify utility conflicts and bypass areas.
• Perform quantity take-off of Pipe & appurtenances/concrete/sitework.
• Formulate unit prices as needed.
• Solicit subcontractor/supplier participation via phone or email.
• Write RFIs to engineers.
• Proficient in scope analysis and estimating deficiencies.
• Develop project RFQ and RFP documents.
• Establish project database for proposals.
• Create construction schedule for estimates in P6.
• Coordinate and establish the project budget (GMP).
• Maintain long term relationships with vendors/subcontractors.
• Participate in pre and post construction reviews.
