McFarland Construction is hiring a Preconstruction Manager for commercial design/build projects in Raleigh, NC. Require 8+ years in commercial preconstruction and CMAR experience with strong cost estimation, bid analysis, and stakeholder collaboration.

The role focuses on leading preconstruction from inception to turnover, with emphasis on accurate forecasting, procurement planning, and successful project budgeting for diverse markets including financial, health, and mission-critical sectors.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in preconstruction management and estimating for commercial construction.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Experience working with owners, joint ventures, and project stakeholders.
• Public sector/CMAR preconstruction experience with a GC is required.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and contracts to develop comprehensive cost estimates for commercial projects.
• Create design milestone estimates and provide input to design team.
• Lead bid solicitation and evaluation with trade partners and owners.
• Maintain estimating databases and cost libraries for accurate tracking.
• Manage risk and cost control throughout preconstruction.
• Coordinate scheduling, procurement, and trade partner outreach.
• Lead pre-bid meetings, site visits, and client presentations.
