Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler in Huntsville, AL to support development and assembly of advanced hardware. You will perform precision mechanical assembly, fit-up, and verification in a development environment, building work centers and first articles while contributing to scalable production methods.

The role requires 7+ years in aerospace or precision manufacturing, the ability to read GD&T drawings, and strong documentation discipline.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in mechanical assembly of complex hardware in aerospace/precision environments.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings with GD&T callouts.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools and torque-controlled fastening.
• Strong attention to detail and team communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex mechanical assembly with precision fitting, torquing, alignment, and hardware installation.
• Assemble rotating machinery components and support subassemblies into system packages.
• Read engineering drawings and process instructions to execute assembly operations.
• Document as-built dimensions, torque records, and inspection data in quality systems.
• Support first article builds, process development, and improve assembly methods.
• Maintain clean, safe work area per 5S and FOD standards.
• Support proof testing and functional testing of assembled hardware.
