Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Technician III to assemble, align, and sustain a family of advanced precision machines in-house. You will work closely with design engineers, bring machines to life, and maintain fleet performance in production. The role emphasizes problem solving on complex systems and hands-on contributions on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years in precision mechanical assembly or related field.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and procedures with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with precision measurement tools and gauges.
• Experience with mechanical alignment and torque control.
• Experience troubleshooting electromechanical systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform precision mechanical assembly of multi-axis subsystems from drawings and instructions.
• Install and verify high-resolution encoder feedback systems.
• Conduct machine alignment and calibration campaigns using metrology tools.
• Assemble, leak-check, and commission fluid/gas subsystems.
• Route and terminate cabling with attention to signal integrity.
• Bring machines from complete to production-ready with power-on checks.
• Troubleshoot faults to component level and document findings.
• Maintain and retrofit machines; support root-cause investigations.
• Train junior technicians and mentor peers.
