Job summary

RNInk is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design and develop precision products and custom assemblies from concept through production release. This hands-on role combines mechanical design, analysis, prototype evaluation, and collaboration with customers and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Progressive experience designing mechanical products or precision assemblies through production release.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD, detailed drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and ECR.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, interfaces, and verification.
• Ability to manage technical work independently and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements into product specifications and detailed design concepts.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and design documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations, material selection, tolerance analysis, and design risk assessments.
• Design components and assemblies with temperature, pressure, sealing, and manufacturability in mind.
• Develop prototype and validation plans, evaluate results, and refine designs to meet performance targets.
• Lead or participate in design reviews and resolve issues with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.
• Support new product introductions, engineering changes, and troubleshooting in production or field.
