Job summary

Modern Machining Solutions Inc. seeks a Senior Product Design Engineer to design precision products and custom assemblies from concept through production release.

You will blend mechanical design, analysis, prototype evaluation, and direct collaboration with customers and manufacturing teams to deliver reliable solutions. The role emphasizes translating requirements into specifications, creating CAD models and drawings, performing tolerance analyses, and guiding design verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Progressive experience designing mechanical products or precision engineered assemblies through production release.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD, detailed drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, and engineering change control.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing methods, mechanical interfaces, and design verification.
• Ability to independently manage technical work, document decisions, and collaborate across functions.

Responsibilities

• Translate customer requirements and application conditions into product specifications and detailed design concepts.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, production drawings, bills of materials, and design documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations, material selection, tolerance analysis, and design risk assessments.
• Design components and assemblies with temperature, pressure, sealing, interfaces, and manufacturability in mind.
• Develop prototype and validation plans, evaluate test results, and refine designs to meet performance requirements.
• Lead or contribute to design reviews and resolve technical issues with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.
• Support new product introduction, engineering changes, and troubleshooting of production or field performance concerns.
• Provide technical guidance to less experienced engineers and improve design practices and reusable engineering knowledge.
