Pinewood Tool Corp, a family-owned precision job shop in Wisconsin, is hiring a Precision Grinder for first shift. You will perform surface and OD grinding on tooling and components for short-run, tight-tolerance work where flatness and finish must be right the first time.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of grinding experience, strong GD&T and blueprint reading skills, and hands-on wheel selection and dressing know-how. Join a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of precision grinding experience in a toolroom or short-run job shop.
• Hands-on experience with precision hand grinders, spin fixtures and wet grinders.
• Demonstrated ability to hold tight tolerances on flatness, parallelism, concentricity, and runout.
• Strong wheel selection and dressing skills across materials and finishes.
• Solid blueprint reading and applied GD&T knowledge.
• Comfortable with standard toolroom metrology — micrometers, indicators, height gauges, surface plates, surface-finish testers.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Detail-oriented, dependable, and team-minded — a fit for our culture of ownership, attention to detail, continuous improvement, and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Surface (flat) grinding to hold flatness and parallelism.
• OD grinding to hold concentricity and runout.
• Fine surface-finish control to print specification.
• Work to Pinewood's capability of holding tolerances to .0001″.
• Set up your own jobs, select and dress wheels, and perform in-process inspection.
• Machine from blueprints, applying GD&T.
• Take ownership of your work and stand behind the result
