Job summary

Panduit is seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate manual grinders, mills, and lathes, and to perform precision machining on high-value components. You will establish tooling, feeds, and speeds, run complex operations, and ensure products meet tight dimensional tolerances.

The role requires 5–7 years of hands-on experience, ability to read engineering drawings, and a commitment to safety and quality. Day shift in Illinois offers competitive pay and a robust benefits program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Machining certificate in progress per Procedure C1-0845.
• PI Bronze certification required within 12 months of hire.
• 5–7 years of precision machining experience with manual grinding, milling, lathe operation, and tooling support.
• Advanced knowledge of surface grinding and manual machining methods, wheel selection and dressing, workholding, setup, milling, turning, tight tolerances.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual surface grinders, mills, lathes and related equipment.
• Dress and balance grinding wheels; establish workholding, feeds and speeds.
• Machin e complex components to tight tolerances and inspect using precision instruments.
• Perform in-process inspections, document results, and ensure quality compliance.
• Support tooling, continuous improvement, and safety, quality, and policy adherence.
