Job summary

Fives Group in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, seeks a Grinder to set up and operate precision grinding machines (ID/OD/surface) to tight tolerances. You will read blueprints, select wheels, feeds, and speeds, and ensure parts meet exact finishes. The role requires 3+ years of related experience or an Associate's Degree in Machinist, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. You’ll collaborate with engineers and production staff in a hands-on grinding environment.

Qualifications

• Over three years of related experience or an Associate's Degree in a Machinist program.
• Ability to read part drawings and specifications.
• Knowledge of GD&T.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Plans grinding sequence and set-ups.
• Positions and secures workpiece in machine.
• Starts and observes machine operation.
• Reads drawings and tolerances to determine dimensions.
• Uses precision measuring instruments to check work.
• Maintains clean and orderly work area.
• Provides training and support to others in grinding.
• Communicates with engineers to resolve issues.
• May operate straightening presses and manual lathes.
