Job summary
Fives Group in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, seeks a Grinder to set up and operate precision grinding machines (ID/OD/surface) to tight tolerances. You will read blueprints, select wheels, feeds, and speeds, and ensure parts meet exact finishes. The role requires 3+ years of related experience or an Associate's Degree in Machinist, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds. You’ll collaborate with engineers and production staff in a hands-on grinding environment.
Qualifications
Over three years of related experience or an Associate's Degree in a Machinist program.
Ability to read part drawings and specifications.
Knowledge of GD&T.
Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
Responsibilities
Plans grinding sequence and set-ups.
Positions and secures workpiece in machine.
Starts and observes machine operation.
Reads drawings and tolerances to determine dimensions.
Uses precision measuring instruments to check work.
Maintains clean and orderly work area.
Provides training and support to others in grinding.
Communicates with engineers to resolve issues.
May operate straightening presses and manual lathes.
