Job summary

Federato in San Francisco, CA seeks a Customer Engineer to accelerate insurer workflows using the Federato platform, leading technical discovery and demos with Sales and Product.

Require 6–10+ years in technical presales, strong insurance domain knowledge, and Javascript/SQL skills. Familiarity with Gemini and Claude is a plus. Up to 30% travel. Base salary $175,000–$195,000 annually with OTE $245,000–$275,000.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years in technical presales/solutions engineering.
• Hands-on demos, architecture design, and enterprise sales support.
• Strong insurance domain knowledge or curiosity to learn quickly.
• Familiarity with policy lifecycle management, rating, quoting, and underwriting systems.
• Ability to communicate technical value to execs and practitioners.

Responsibilities

• Own technical sales engagements from discovery through close
• Deliver tailored, high-impact demos focused on business outcomes
• Translate customer workflows into Federato configurations including quoting, rating, endorsements, and portfolio optimization
• Lead RFP and security questionnaire completion in collaboration with Product and Security teams
• Build and maintain reusable demo environments reflecting target customer segments
• Develop onboarding materials, configuration libraries, and example rating logic
• Co-define and continuously improve the pre-sales lifecycle (discovery, solutioning, handoffs, etc.)
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to align roadmap with customer pain points
