Job summary

Federato is an AI-native platform transforming the insurance lifecycle. You’ll lead a small engineering team, mentor engineers, review code, and help shape the technical roadmap to deliver high-impact products.

You’ll architect and build complex features across the stack using React, TypeScript, Python (Django), Node.js and PostgreSQL, with a strong emphasis on testing, performance, and reliability. This role includes stock options and travel up to 15–20%.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams or pods.
• Strong frontend skills with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
• Significant backend experience with Python (Django) and Node.js with TypeScript.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
• Experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and Kafka.
• Strong understanding of design principles, testing, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of engineers, providing mentorship, code review, and architectural guidance.
• Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to shape roadmap priorities.
• Architect and build complex features across the stack using React, TS, Python, Node.js, PostgreSQL.
• Drive engineering best practices, testing, quality, and tooling improvements.
• Own technical delivery from design through deployment with performance and reliability focus.
• Identify areas for improvement in codebase and development workflow.
• Mentor others and partner with leadership to scale systems.
