Job summary

PACCAR is seeking an experienced Powertrain Test Lab Engineer to design, develop, and implement automation and control systems for engine test cells and facility operations in the United States. You will support engineering by supplying testing tools for calibration, evaluation, and validation of hardware/software used in test cells.

Required are a B.S. in Engineering and 7+ years in automation, with proficiency in AVL test cell systems and Siemens hardware.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering (Electrical, Computer, Mechanical), Computer Science, or related discipline
• Minimum 7 years work experience in automation and control systems for engine test lab facilities
• Proficiency using AVL test cell automation systems and Siemens facility hardware
• Basic knowledge of diesel engine and exhaust aftertreatment system operation and control systems
• Ability to work with all ETL staff, fostering teamwork and employee development
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
• Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Excellent organizational and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement automation and control systems for engine test cells and facility operations
• Support PACCAR engineering organizations by supplying, improving, and maintaining testing tools used for calibrating, evaluating, and validating hardware and software systems used in test cells
• Support calibration, evaluation, and validation activities through continuous improvement of testing tools
• Support facility upgrades and new test cell development initiatives
• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve test quality, automation, safety, and operational efficiency
• Research and implement new automation, instrumentation, and testing technologies
