Job summary

PACCAR Inc in Lewisville, TX is seeking a Control System Engineer to guide the development and validation of next-generation powertrain control systems. You will manage requirements, coordinate validation, and collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams across software, electrical, and mechanical disciplines.

The role emphasizes leadership in system development, risk reduction through FMEAs, and delivering safe, high-performance solutions. Travel up to 10% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience designing, developing, and troubleshooting embedded systems with microcontrollers and peripherals.
• Strong vehicle network knowledge with SAE J1939-21/22 (CAN/CAN FD).
• Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS/Polarion/Codebeamer.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%, including international travel.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier and engineering activities to deliver powertrain control solutions.
• Evaluate and direct architectures, requirements, designs, and validation strategies.
• Drive issue resolution through RCA, corrective actions, and defect management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, integrate, validate, and launch vehicle control systems.
• Lead pilot builds and vehicle integration activities with technical guidance.
• Develop and execute FMEAs and validation plans to improve quality and reliability.
