Job summary

PACCAR is seeking an experienced ePowertrain Validation Engineer to lead test plan development, establish robust DVP&Rs, and coordinate validation activities across global test facilities. You will report progress, assess risks, and work with engineering to align with program schedules and budgets.

The role requires a strong background in powertrain validation, DFMEA/DVP&R, and experience presenting technical results to diverse audiences.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years powertrain, vehicle or related validation experience.
  • Strong understanding of powertrain systems and product development processes.
  • Prior experience with risk mitigation methods such as DFMEA and DVP&R.
  • Knowledge of durability, reliability, performance, emissions, and environmental testing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to present to diverse audiences.
  • Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive test plan development aligned with powertrain and vehicle programs.
  • Collaborate with engineering, safety and compliance, and testing departments to develop and maintain an accurate DVP&R that mitigates risk and supports powertrain and vehicle program timelines across all truck divisions.
  • Develop validation procedures and test protocols for global test departments.
  • Coordinate validation activities with internal and external test resources to meet timing and quality targets.
  • Support program management with validation budget details, including test equipment.
  • Analyze test results and communicate performance, risks, issues, and recommended actions.
  • Supply metrics and provide written and verbal updates to communicate project updates, risks/gaps of powertrain program timelines and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support design reviews, FMEA activities, root cause investigations, and corrective action development.
  • Perform Supplier visits and evaluate/establish test protocols and DVP&R
  • Up to 30% travel (domestic and international)

Requisition Summary

The PACCAR Global Powertrain department is developing new electrified components to support applications in the global product offerings under the Kenworth, Peterbilt, DAF, and Leyland brands.This role will collaborate closely with engineering and test departments to develop a comprehensive risk mitigation plan and ensure it is executed in alignment with the program schedule to support market introduction plans.The ideal candidate for this role will gather and communicate validation information, coordinate activities across global test facilities and maintain alignment with multiple vehicle integration programs.This role will also be responsible for reporting progress, participating in problem-solving, and adapting the validation plan to maintain the project schedule and budget.
