Job summary

PACCAR Electronics in Lewisville, TX seeks a Software Quality Engineer - Embedded Systems to join our team. You will develop and validate next-generation vehicle control software, shaping quality processes, standards, and compliance across the organization.

The role demands leadership in quality strategies, metrics, and traceability, with strong collaboration across software, systems, and hardware teams to ensure quality is built in from the start.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer/Software/Systems/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years in software quality or validation for embedded systems, preferably in automotive.
• Experience with requirements engineering and lifecycle tools like IBM DOORS Next Gen and IBM ELM/EWM.
• Demonstrated quality improvement initiatives; Six Sigma Green/Black Belt preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and own software quality strategies for embedded systems across SDLC.
• Audit requirements, design specs, and testability gaps for quality and compliance.
• Define and manage quality metrics, acceptance criteria, and release gates.
• Maintain end-to-end traceability between requirements, tests, defects, and evidence using IBM DOORS/ELM.
• Lead RCA and CAPA activities for critical defects and process escapes.
• Promote continuous improvement in software quality processes with data-driven insights.
• Support ASPICE assessments and process maturity roadmaps to Level 2/3.
• Collaborate with software, systems, hardware, and program management teams to embed quality early.
