Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is seeking a seasoned Power Systems Engineer to lead analyses and validation of advanced power system technologies. You will work across teams to model, test, and verify protection, stability, and reliability in modern grids, while prioritizing secure architectures and scalable data analytics.

The role emphasizes hands-on lab and field work, collaboration with sponsors, and mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• BS/BA with 7+ years of power systems grid data analysis experience.
• MS/MA with 5+ years of power systems grid data analysis experience.
• PhD with 3+ years of power systems grid data analysis experience.
• Field deployment of time-synchronized measurement application platforms is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Analyze power systems for protection, stability, reliability, and operations.
• Develop algorithms for time-synchronized measurements in power systems.
• Select components based on specifications and system requirements.
• Contribute to secure, reliable architectures with grid communications and cybersecurity.
• Plan and execute hands-on installation of devices in lab and field testbeds; maintain safety documentation.
• Assess inverter-based resources and power-electronics interactions for design considerations.
• Collaborate across teams and communicate progress to sponsors; publish findings when appropriate.
