Job summary

Eversource Energy is seeking a Senior Engineer for Transmission System Planning to lead Non-Wires Alternatives (NWA) evaluations and power system studies across CT, MA, and NH. The role emphasizes economic analyses, regulatory testimony, and cross-team collaboration to deliver cost-effective, reliable solutions.

The position requires strong modeling skills, experience with NWA concepts, and the ability to mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, power systems.
Master's degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years of transmission and/or distribution planning experience.
Experience testifying in regulatory proceedings.
Familiarity with power system modeling tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication for regulatory engagements.

Responsibilities

Conduct NWA evaluations for transmission projects and regulatory filings.
Perform benefit-cost analyses comparing traditional solutions with DERs and NWAs.
Collaborate with Planning, Integrated Energy Planning, and Regulatory Affairs teams to meet state-specific NWA requirements.
Develop models and tools for evaluating NWAs, including production cost modeling and benefit-cost analysis.
Prepare technical documentation and testimony for regulatory filings and proceedings.
Monitor evolving regulatory requirements and best practices related to NWAs in CT/MA/NH.
Mentor and train junior staff on technical analysis methods and standard procedures.
