Job summary

Socket.dev seeks a hands-on Field Service Technician to install, test, maintain, and repair electrical power equipment at customer facilities. You’ll read schematics, diagnose issues, and perform testing and commissioning with safety as priority.

The role involves regional travel, overtime, nights, and on-call rotation, with responsibilities to document service reports and support emergencies while upholding industry standards and clear communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in Electrical/Electronic Technology preferred.
• NETA certification or ability to obtain Level III/IV certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, maintenance, commissioning, upgrades, and repairs on electrical power equipment.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose electrical and mechanical issues in substations and power systems.
• Read and interpret schematics, drawings, manuals, and technical documentation.
• Complete service reports, testing documentation, and customer deliverables.
• Support emergency response work and customer outage situations as needed.
• Maintain tools, test equipment, vehicles, and work areas in a clean and organized condition.
