Job summary

The City of Independence seeks an experienced Engineering leader to plan, develop, coordinate, and direct complex projects including major construction and capital improvements. You will supervise staff across engineering, technical, and administrative roles to ensure efficient execution and timely delivery.

Requirements include an ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree with power systems expertise, 15 years of related experience, and a Missouri PE license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with power systems or related field (ABET-accredited).
• Fifteen years of progressively responsible professional engineering experience or equivalent combination.
• Strong written and oral communication and ability to present effectively.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs engineering projects including major construction and capital improvements.
• Supervises staff in engineering, technical and administrative functions to support projects.
• Participates in auditing, documentation, and coordination with power pools and reliability coordinators.
