Job summary

Leap29 seeks a Power Systems Engineering Consultant for the Energy Sector (Transmission Planning) to join our U.S. Power Systems team.

You will conduct advanced transmission and grid studies, translate complex analyses into actionable recommendations, and engage directly with clients and stakeholders to define study scopes and deliverables. The role emphasizes hands-on modeling, strong technical expertise, and clear communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in transmission planning, system operations, or power systems consulting.
• Demonstrated expertise in steady-state and dynamic simulations and grid reliability analysis.
• Familiarity with U.S. power markets and ISOs (PJM, ERCOT, MISO, WECC, SPP, CAISO).

Responsibilities

• Conduct steady-state, dynamic, and short‑circuit studies to assess system performance and reliability.
• Perform power flow, transient stability, voltage, and contingency analyses using industry tools.
• Evaluate interconnection requests, reinforcements, and congestion management scenarios.
• Develop and maintain engineering methodologies, assumptions, and models.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to define study scopes and deliverables.
• Prepare high-quality technical reports and presentations summarizing findings.
• Support development of internal tools and analytical frameworks.
• Stay current with regulatory developments and grid technologies.
